A Tradition of Faith

There's a new trend that we are loving: buy a new Bible with extra large margins and then spend a year (or more) reading it, highlighting your favorite passages, and writing notes in the margins--for the purpose of giving it to your oldest child. Then buy another one and start all over for your next child. Some couples divide them up--Mom does Bibles for the girls and Dads for the boys.

Have you done this for your children? Please join our Facebook discussion and tell us all about it!

Promises

Thank You, Lord, for keeping Your promises to us. Help us to do the same with the ones we love.

The Whole Point of it All

Groundhogs and Bible Verses

So lo' and behold, that groundhog came out and announced that spring is on the way. (He also mentioned that our Happily Parenting logo colors--navy and green--are going to be especially hot this spring.) Of course, the news program that we listened to then went on and on about how often Mr. Groundhog is wrong--because who wants to hear good news on the news?

Well, anyway, we DO have good news: a brand new handy scripture guide. We love this free printable one that we downloaded from http://www.swtblessings.com/. Our plan is to copy each verse into a journal and then write thoughts, prayers, and personal meanings associated with each one (have you ever used the SOAP method of Bible study)? So if you happen to use this guide, please visit her web site and drop her a note of thanks!

Happy February, everyone!
